Integration and Technical Considerations

Below are some of the integration and technical requirements that have been identified by the community (derived from Requirement Outcomes From Planning Workgroups).  Feel free to add to this list.

Integration

• Ability to integrate with institutional authentication system
• Ability to integrate with and leverage existing LMS
• Ability to integrate with other institutional data, such as course information and scheduling systems

Examples:

• Several schools have developed BlackBoard integration solutions, including Northwestern University's Media Space and University of Saskatchewan's Recollect System

Technical Requirements

• Flexible and expandable storage
• Flexible and expandable bandwidth
• Ability to work in a clustered server environment
• Ability to support different media capture devices and methods
• Open APIs
• Ability to support multiple platforms
• Versioning of media files and of metadata
