Course Content Access
Whether or not the recorded courses are made public or access is restricted, students (and others) who access the courses should be provided with guidance as to how the content can be used. For example, consider these questions from students:
- Can I keep recorded lectures? Can I archive them on my hard drive?
- I would like to use an image from a faculty member’s lecture slides in a poster I’m creating. Can I repurpose course content?
- Can I give a current 1st-year student some lecture videos I got last year in the same course?
- A 3rd-year student offered me a collection of her lecture videos from her year. Should I use them to prepare better for my exams?
- Can I share course materials with my friends outside of this school?
A policy and/or guidance should be developed and implemented that addresses questions such as these.
