Opencast Community Mailing List

community@opencastproject.org (was podcast@lists.berkeley.edu)
The primary mailing list for the larger Opencast Community, this mailing list is used for general discussion of issues related to academic podcasting. There are over 400 subscribers including IT professionals, instructors, administrators, decision-makers and other stakeholders representing a wide continuum of potential Opencast Matterhorn adopters. Relative to the Opencast Matterhorn project, use of this list will be reserved for major announcements, such as a release, or when input is needed where a broader perspective of potential adopters is desirable.

Meetings & Events

Meetings and Events are posted on this site as they are scheduled, including meetings related to Matterhorn or other projects, and events of interest to the community, such as conferences related to academic podcasting or use of media in learning.

Monthly Opencast Community Meeting

To begin in July 2009, we will plan monthly meetings focused on engaging the broader Opencast Community in the Matterhorn project, and highlighting the activities and best practices of the community.  More details to come about this meeting.

Post a Meeting or Event

If you are holding a meeting or event, or wish to share an upcoming event with the Opencast Community, feel free to post your meeting through Add content > Events (must be logged in with an active account).

Planet Opencast

This is an aggregation of blogs of people working on (or writing about) the Opencast or any of the Opencast projects. To add your blog (or any RSS feed) to Planet Opencast, submit a request.

Matterhorn_project Delicious Tagging

Use the Delicious tag matterhorn_project or opencast to tag sites to share with the Opencast Matterhorn team.  Sites tagged with matterhorn_project and opencast will be included in the Planet Opencast feed.

Opencast Twibe (A Twitter group)

Joining the Opencast Twibe is a great way to share updates and thoughts about to the Opencast Matterhorn project among twittering members.  First, join the Opencast Tribe by tweeting the full url of the twibe (http://twibes.com/opencast).  Then, to direct your tweets to the twibe stream, include any of the keywords "opencast" "matterhorn" or "ocdaily" in your tweet.  Eventually, when RSS functionality becomes available in Twibes, we'll include the Opencast Twibe stream as part of Planet Opencast.
